Today I’ll let you guys know how to start a dance IG account. With a few simple tricks your accounts can be growing in no time!
First off, you NEED a good username. I suggest for your username you have Dance in it, so the world knows you’re a dancer. I also definitely DON’T recommend a random username, for example something like @asdfgh . Plus other people might think otherwise and block you. If you don’t want to put Dance in your username then I recommend using your name and putting that you’re a dancer in your name or bio.
Secondly, use hashtags in your post caption. This is a great trick because new people can find you by searching up the hashtags on your posts. I used this trick a LOT when I first started my account. But also, make sure the hashtags are related to your post. Some that I used were #dancer #talent #contortionist #pointe #acro . With the hash-tags also make sure you’re captions continue to spread positivity. You might even make someone's day.
And lastly, have quality dance content. You don’t have to have professional photos, but make sure your photos are clear and show off your talent. Another DON’T is to not post random unnecessary photos. Your followers aren’t going to want to see pictures of flowers or your kitchen. You’re dance photos should inspire others to reach for their dance goals or even make them want to start dancing.
Always remember the number of followers you have or are gaining shouldn’t matter as long as you love what you do and want to keep spreading positivity. As dancers, we need to make sure we're encouraging others as we continue to grow together as a community.
