Turn Your Dreams Into Plans by McKinley Cantwell

Turn Your Dreams Into Plans

“Be the girl who turned her cant’s into cans, and her dreams into plans”

This is my new favorite quote.  Why you ask? Because this helps me stay determined to try hard every day and turn my dreams into reality.  Some days the pressure of school, dance, and growing up can be a lot for a young girl to handle.

When I feel overwhelmed, I try to take a deep breath and think about what my goals are.  I remember what my end goals are, and I push to turn the “I cant’s” into “I cans” and I keep trying.  I try to focus on one thing at a time and take one step at a time toward my goals. Setting short term, smaller goals is a great way to reach the end goals.  I try to set realistic goals for new tricks I want to learn or the number of turns I can do in a row.  I have learned setting smaller goals is going to help me be more successful and not feel overwhelmed.

Each day comes with new challenges and obstacles, but instead of allowing those obstacles to take over and frustrate me, I try to keep a positive attitude and know that just because today didn’t go like I wanted, tomorrow is a new day and I am going to work even harder to make it a better, more productive day.

Instagram is a wonderful community where I have met amazing dancers who have such kind, encouraging words for others!  There is a place for everyone in this world of dance and I am here to make sure I let everyone know they can do it!!
