It's almost here.....I can feel the anticipation building! I know I need to calm my nerves and look at what I need to do to get ready!
#1~ I lay out every one of my competition costumes and make sure I have the costume, accessories, tights and shoes together for each one! Once they are all together I put them all in my gear bag and zip it up (I may or may not recheck this about 10 times before we leave😉)
#2~ I sit and stretch for a good 30 minutes before we leave to get good and warmed up because the last thing I need it to hurt myself. I really focus on my turnout and straightening my legs by pointing through my big toe a lot. I bring my turnboard with me to practice turns when we get to the venue!
#3~ Makeup and hair time! My Mom used to do my makeup, but now I put everything on except for the eyelashes and eyeliner( thankfully my Mom Is really quick at this part) After that we check to make sure I have my earrings in and then the hair is just a slicked back pony and straightened! Thank goodness it is so easy! #4~ I take a deep breath and I go through my routines and then it is time to hit the road! I always bring a blanket, water and my headphones! I am super excited and ready to take the stage and be the best person I can be on that stage and I always tell myself that as long as I dance better than I did the time before and I go out and have fun and I feel good about myself, that is what matters the most!  We will all win some and lose some but I always leave a comp feeling like a winner because I did my best and I was there to support all of my friends and be there for them too. It's an added bonus when we get to meet our fellow #sugarsisters at comp! Who knows, maybe I'll see you next time!
Talk to you soon,
Mac
