Setting goals is an important part of becoming a successful dancer.
A famous quote I like, "A goal is just a wish until it is written down." This leads into my first point:
*Always write your goals down. You can use the cute notebook that came in a recent Sugarhaul or you can use a blank notebook if you are just getting started.
*Have your goals visible. I have mine written on a dry erase board over my mirror so that I can see them every morning while I am getting prepared for my day.
If you are new to goal setting this is an easy way to start.
*Short term goal: a goal you can accomplish daily or by the end of the week. Example: I am going to practice my over splits each night before bed so I can have an amazing leap. Or I am going to use my foot stretcher to make my arch amazing! Or I am going to give at least one person in each of my dance classes all week a compliment about themselves. These goals are yours, so make them about how you can become a better version of yourself.
*Long term goal: a goal that will take you much longer to accomplish. Perhaps for the entire dance year or for the next couple of years. My long term goal for next dance season is to win a national title.
Have fun creating a space for your goals and creating goals!
