Staying healthy during flu AND Covid is going to be a tricky road to navigate!
So, I sat down with my mom (who is also a nurse) and we talked about how to stay healthy and avoid both of these nasty viruses!
So, I sat down with my mom (who is also a nurse) and we talked about how to stay healthy and avoid both of these nasty viruses!
So let’s start there! They are both viral. Meaning you cannot take antibiotic
when you get sick with them. The treatment for them is calling “symptom management”. So like cough syrup for coughs, Tylenol for fever and pain, and so on. That’s not fun!
The first step you can take (with your healthcare providers permission)
is to get a flu shot. Covid-19 does not have an shot at the time of writing.
Shots hurt but only for a second. And that’s way better than getting sick!
Besides getting the shots, you can also do these:
Wash your hands thoroughly with warm soapy water, frequently.
When hand washing isn’t available, use alcohol based hand sanitizers.
But wash your hands after every 3 uses of hand sanitizer.
Cover your coughs and sneezes with your elbow. It should look like you’re dabbing.
Get plenty of sleep. Eat fresh fruits and veggies, and plenty of water!
Wear your mask! Stay home when you’re sick or if you think you’re getting sick!
Stay active when you’re feeling well! Get fresh air! And if your studio is still open, you DANCE!
