Dance Dynamics

Dance Dynamics is under the artistic direction of Becky Floyd.  Miss Floyd has been teaching dance for over 30 years. She has a Degree in Deaf Education, BS degree in American Sign language/ English interpreting with a minor in Sociology.  She is pursuing her masters in Special Education in Educational settings.  She was the director of the United State presidential initiative exchange program with the Soviet Union as a Dance Ambassador for Indiana and the United States.

Her students have successfully competed in Dance Nationals in South Caroline, Orlando Florida, Indianapolis, Indiana, Chicago, Illinois.  She was recognized with a Lifetime dance achievement award from Showstoppers National Dance Competition. The studio’s Production numbers for the last two years have taken top awards in Applause competition winning the Best of the Best award, and Showstoppers Competition top overall jr. production.  The studio was recognized by the Association of Dance Competitions and Conventions as a Studio of Excellence 2018 Award winner.  Each year the studio is active in the local community as well, participating in the Relay for Life, and entertaining at various Sr. Citizen living centers, and the Indiana Veterans Home. The studio also participated in the Dancers beating cancer campaign and their video was shared on the Today show, and on Megan Trainor’s Instagram page.  

The studio offers classes in tap, ballet, pointe, hip hop, lyrical, acrobatics, and jazz at both recreational and competitive levels. The support staff at Dance Dynamics is extremely talented group of dancers and performers. Wendell Ferguson is technical director and creates original mixes of song for the studio classes and makes edits to keep all music family oriented and most importantly free of offensive language.  He and his twin brother Randall also teach hip hop and have choreographed National award winning numbers for their students. They were featured dancers on roller skates in the Pan American Games opening Ceremonies.

Other staff members include  Sabrina Barker acrobatics and lyrical (BS degree in early childhood, special education) and during her dance career she was a member of several National Award winning groups.

Rebecca Deckinger grew up dancing and competing in California and along with teaching at the studio is pursuing her Education Degree at Purdue University where she is a choreographer for the Purdue Dance organization Higher Ground.

Paige Foutch has her degree in computer technology and during her dancing career heralds a perfect score with her Hip Hop solo, at the Showstopper National championships in Anaheim California.  She currently is the assistant director of the studios performance team that performed in Walt Disney world parade with Dance the World and will be performing in New York City in the summer of 2018 with Dance the World Broadway. 

Megan Flattery choreographs for the studio both acrobatic and mini competitive jazz routines.  Her mini jazz solos took top awards this year at showstoppers regional.  She is also production assistant to the mini and Jr. teams at the studio.

Emily Knuteson teaches ballet and pointe at the studio as well as assistant to tumbling classes.  She has worked with the Iowa ballet and the Milwaukee ballet she has her degree in Dance from the University of Iowa.  She was a competitive gymnast throughout high school before devoting her time to the Ballet.

Our mission is to enhance children’s education with quality dance instruction regardless of one’s ability.  Our highly qualified staff of professionals are committed to provide a balance between working hard, learning dance technique, and having fun.  Together we encourage and guide our dancers to share their passion for dance in a variety of opportunities both noncompetitive or competitive performances locally, statewide, and nationally.  Our dancers develop into strong and vibrant individuals, capable of meeting any challenge presented throughout their lives.

 

Our competitive team code of ethics includes the following mission statement and core values that coorelate with the studios overall mission statement.

Dance Dynamics COMPETITIVE COMPANY’S Mission Statement:

To have our dancers achieve new levels of artistry and performance beyond what is possible in their regular class work. To train and empower students to a pre-professional level with a competitive edge for those who may consider dance as a major or minor in college. To make possible a young dancer’s dream to dance and /or to pursue a career in theatre, dance performance, or as a dance educator.

Dance Company Code of Ethics

Values -To conduct oneself with integrity through honesty, courtesy, respect, and consideration for your dance members, dance families and faculty. This includes a willingness to be held accountable for the manner in which you participate in all company activities.

Integrity - To be given the privilege of setting an example, serving the people you are leading, and being an inspiration to others in the Dance Dynamics Dance Studio community.

Leadership - To adhere to the policies and procedures of the studio and company, to comply with the schedule and requests of the faculty, and to be a person that others can count on.

Responsibility - To respect the dance profession and uphold our values and standards of conduct in a way that characterizes the highest qualities of dance professionals.

Professionalism -This includes respecting your teachers, supporting and encouraging each other, to not gossip, but can voice opinion to a company director about your concern, and to recognize yourself as a role model always.

Character - To be a person who represents personal integrity, leadership, responsibility and professionalism in classes, outside activities and events, and in all interactions with peers and authority figures.
