Change is Inevitable - by - Arabella Turano

I have been dancing since I was 2 years old. Dance has taken me to many amazing places, and introduced me to SO many important people that have become as close as family. Dance has given me life long friendships.
I think that one mistake we can sometimes make as dancers, and as humans in general, is becoming too relaxed and satisfied. We stop taking risks, and stop pushing ourselves to achieve more. We become content with mediocrity, and accept things as they are.
Well I want all of you to remember that magical things can happen when we step OUTSIDE of our comfort zone!!! When we set goals, we can achieve a higher level of performance!
This year, I am making a big change and moving to a different studio. This was a huge decision for me as I have been there for 7 years and formed many significant relationships. It has become my home.
But I knew it was time for change, time to engage with new and different people and expand myself. It was time for me to take a leap of faith and embrace change and new experiences. Lucky for me, some of my closest friends decided to join me! I am scared, excited and thrilled about the new road I am set to travel on. I am ready to elevate my learning and soar high!
We don't all have to make life altering decisions to initiate our evolution. Small changes can make a huge impact on your success as a dancer! Take classes and workshops somewhere new. Go to conventions and dance your heart out. Strive to always do better! If you're an acro girl, take a contemporary or hiphop class. If you're a tapper, try a yoga or pilates class to improve your flexibility. Seize every chance to perform, whether its a charity event or a school talent show. Volunteer to assist or mentor younger dancers. Film a dance video. Make new discoveries about dance AND yourself! Look for unique movements and concepts that challenge you. Find an instructor or teacher that will push you and help you get to the next level.
Above all else, try to do one thing that scares you a little, and MOST importantly, believe in YOURSELF! You are AMAZING!! Don't you ever forget it.

Love,
Arabella
