Don't go to your next Photo Shoot until you read this!

Photoshoots can be one of a dancer's highlights but can be stressful, especially if its your first one! No worries!! #SUGARPRO Alli has all the tips for you to be sure that you are ready to capture those shots that you will want to add to your collection AND share on your social media.

Tip 1) Search Instagram and Pinterest for dance poses you think look good and you would be able to do well.
Tip 2) Practice those poses in front of a mirror and also have someone (a parent or a friend) take a few practice photos of you in those poses. This way you can perfect the pose before your shoot.
Tip 3) Go to every shoot prepared with at least 4-5 poses that you’ve perfected and be opened to trying new ideas the photographer will have as well. Knowing what you can do well will help their creative process.
Tip 4) Talk with your photographer ahead of time about the style of your shoot and the goals for that shoot. I’ve found photoshoots to be most successful when both the photographer and I have one clear goal, especially if a shoot is only an hour.
a) are you looking for an outdoor or indoor look
b) are you looking for a more artistic look or a fashion magazine look or other
c) what are the goals for the resulting photos; are you hoping to represent and tag a certain clothing brand, dancewear brand, etc are you an ambassador for a company and need shots with their products, etc
Tip 5) Pick 2-4 outfits that align with your goal you set with your photographer. (See above) Bright colors that pop always get great results, especially outdoor so try to have at least one. Also check Instagram and see if you see a trend in popular colors.
Tip 6) Start with hair down but bring things to pull hair up or tied back so you can have more then one look.
Tip 7) If you’re going to be out and about, a small pop up changing tent is great idea. You can get one for about $30 on Amazon.
Tip 8) Bring baby wipes and a small towel to wipe dirty feet.
Tip 9) Go light and natural on the makeup, as dancers we have so many behind the scenes or stage shots with heavy makeup, we don’t need more. Companies and pages that look for ambassadors or models for their products want natural looking kids and teens.
Tip 10) Relax and have fun! Enjoy the experience.
Be sure to bring along some Sugar merchandise to snap a couple dance shots with and don't forget to tag us @sugarhaulco on Instagram. You just might see yourself featured on our page!!
